An Important Update about Google Health

Google Health will be discontinued as a service.

The product will continue service through January 1, 2012.
After this date, you will no longer be able to view, enter or edit data stored in Google Health. You will be able to download the data you stored in Google Health, in a number of useful formats, through January 1, 2013.

The API will continue to work in accordance with the Health API deprecation policy, with an anticipated discontinuation date of January 1, 2012. However, we will continue to accept new service applications through 2011 from developers interested in helping users migrate their data to another system.

  1. Is Google Health still open to partnership opportunities?

  2. Do I need to remove the Google Health logo and related text from my website?
    Yes, you will need to remove all Google Health related logos and text by January 1, 2012.
  3. What should we tell our users regarding the data they’ve stored in Google Health?
    Your users can download all of the data stored in Google Health at any time through January 1, 2013. Note that no additional data can be added to user profiles after January 1, 2012.

  4. What will happen to the data we’ve transferred to linked Google Health profiles?
    Users will be able to download their data from Google Health through January 1, 2013. All user data stored in Google Health will be deleted from Google systems after January 2, 2013.
  5. What if anything should we do with data we’ve received from linked Google Health profiles?
    You should handle data in accordance with your posted privacy policies.
  6. What will happen to the H9 staging server (http://h9.google.com)?
    We plan to keep the Google Health H9 server running through January 1, 2012. On or after this date, the service will be shut down and all if its data deleted.
  7. Can Google help us inform the users of our service that we’re changing/discontinuing it?
    We will not be providing information specific to your service. However, we will be providing notice to users on the main Google Health page that the service is being discontinued and recommending they download their data before January 1, 2013.
